I have always been a big fan of depression glass, ever since my mother used to tell me the stories of how she would find the glassware in bags of oats growing up. I love the color of the dishes, especially the aqua and teal colored ones. Where can I locate guides suited to specific colored depression glass? I would like to read up on any referring to specifically the blue shades or any rose colored glassware. I would also like to locate any guides that help me to complete a whole set of the colored glass. I have been searching flea markets every once in awhile, but matching up sets can be quite an undertaking. Depression glass is not as easy to find as I have found out. My goal would be to find out everything I can on the colored sets and locate a full set for my home. A lot of these dishes have designs in the glass. Metal polishing is done with a buffer on a bench mounted motor, many people use an extension piece mounted on their bench grinder shaft on which differing buffs or rotating wire brushes fit, those are quickly interchangable.
For each different polishing compound one should use a differend buff so as not to mix the differend grades of compound.
A beginner is best to start with tripoli as his/her first foray in this polishing as it is the most versatile, later one can than aquier finer compounds, such as rouge, for gold or silver polishing.

Gold finishes come in smooth or “doré”. “Doré” refers to the acid speckling found on many Tiffany objects. This is really a misnomer...

I have been asked on many occasions for recommendations for reference books pertaining to my areas of expertise. Following are a list of books available for purchase that I feel are important for collectors and dealers alike. These are valuable reference books that every collector and dealer should have in their libraries. Most of the books are new. Some are out of print and very difficult to obtain. When those are sold out, they’re gone.
