    Hi everyone,

Bought this in a small lot today. Its a beautiful thing with just the right amount of damage as usual. I'm no expert in Royal Worcester but the mark definately looks like one of theirs. The piece is clearly very old and I doubt it's a fake. But their marks usually have a crown above them but occasionally I've seen them without but it seems unusual in such an old piece.

Hoping anybody with a little more experience with Royal Worcester can take a look.
Thanks for any help with the mark.

Worchester Pottery started in the 1700s. Didn't become Royal Worcester until the 1860s. You need to do some digging into their history. I'm not getting past the Royal Worcester. I think your piece is prior to the 1860s.

"The Worcester Porcelain Factory was founded in 1751 by Dr John Wall, Royal Worcester marks incorporating a crown above a circle were first introduced in 1862 and combined the number 51 within the circle signifying the year Dr Wall founded the original company."

Pretty thing, it's a shame the edge of the stopper has that bad chip :sorry:

The flower petals around the base are really struggling too haha. Comes with the territory doesn't it xD

That's great to know about the Crown I definately do need some more digging. I bet the colour with narrow it down again eventually. Thanks
