Really excited to find this pair of paddle arm chairs. They are maple and look to date from the 1930s - 40s. They have that Deco Lodge look. Wondering if these could be Cushman? They have been refinished...perhaps the labels were removed, as they are not marked. In any case keeping these :)

I wonder if they might have been Rancho Monterey?

Not Cushman. . . . their pieces are signed with metal tags and are also impressed with 'CUSHMAN' and model number into the wood on the underside. Cool chair though of the era, I'm guessing postwar up to early 50's on this one.

The designs on the front appear to be 2 books held up by bookends, maybe to encourage reading :bookworm: in this nice relaxing chair.

I am so excited to see your chairs!
A chair like this was “Daddy’s chair”
in my family when I was growing up late ‘50s-
late ‘60s. It had rough orangey-colored fabric cushions, and I begged for it when I moved out of my college dorm around 1976.
After college I let it go because I had no way to move it to my new apartment in another city. I am 65 years old now and that chair is the one thing I most regret parting with in my life! Great memories! Did you ever find out anything about it? I don’t even know how to describe it!

It looks like mid 20th century cabin/cottage-style furniture, IMHO. Cool!
