Emig was a big trivet distributor and possibly a manufacturer of reproductions. It was the Robert Emig Company of Reading, PA. They were in operation in the 1950s and 1960s. I have a couple of their trivets. Some sources say they were a major distributor of independent foundries castings. At the moment my cast iron resources are unavailable. I am unfamiliar with their cast iron bracket lamp holders.

BTW, wondering if that might be a plant stand rather than a lamp stand. I haven't seen a lamp holder with those 3 raised whatever in the base. Those bumps, knobs, in the bottom would keep a bracket oil lamp font from sitting level. The bottom of a bracket oil lamp font is flat.

Thanks Susan. There is another in the completed items listed as a plant stand and it has the raised knobs like mine.

Just a little more info that you really don't need and doesn't answer your original question on style. The Robert Emig Co. of Reading, PA was founded in 1945 and was still in operation in 1970. The company did the designing of the reproductions and contracted the manufacturing out to foundries in Boyertown, Pottsville, Dougale Springs, Lancaster County, and New York City. The finishing - cleaning, machine assembling, painting, decorating and packing - was done at the Reading Company before shipping. They did reproductions (novelty and decorative items) from the colonial period/Early American, Pennslyvania Dutch, to Mediterranean-style, etc... Materials ranged from cast iron to aluminum. Items such as trivets; lamp brackets; plant stands; miniature planters in the shapes of stoves, coffee grinders, bathroom items, etc.

    Hi Susan,
They also did most of the iron Amish figures you see.
Mikey I think plant stand also. You would not want an oil light that
    low to a table.

I'd guess because of those projections it's a plant stand. I have an antique towel holder bracket thing - up in the attic at the moment. It has a wooden back that hangs on the wall. The bracket sticks out and has grooves like yours. There are wooden bars that fold up, but when you need to use them, they come down and rest in the grooves. I can't find a photo of one at the moment, but here's a similar item without the grooves because it's a sconce. I'd say yours is a combo made of a repro of a really old piece welded to a new stand. antique_cast_iron_sconce__plant__candle_holder___swivels_from_side_to_side_so_cool_1_thumb2_lgw.jpg

I'd use it for plants. I'd also use steampunk as a keyword.
