HELP IDENTIFY UNUSUAL ANTIQUE ANCHOR

I found this at a local yard sale & bought it because I've learned that people buy/collect old anchors! But this one has the most unusual bottom - it is rounded instead of sharp, which seems lie it would just slide along the ocean floor instead of digging in.
And the rounded bottom has a trough or guide? that looks like it would guide a chain or rope - maybe to help lift it/unsnag it when a boat is ready to set sail?
Thanks all- I appreciate any help. Have a great (& peaceful) Sunday!

If it is actual wrought iron there are a number of people who buy and cut them into pieces for knife making.
