We are trying to help out son with his college student loans and have went through some of my father's antiques. We came across a Cornelius & Baker lamp which appears to be bronze. We did a little research on it but could not find much. We think it is from the 1800s and an oil lamp. If anyone could provide with any information on it or a value it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Lamp 1.jpg Lamp 2.jpg Lamp 3.jpg Lamp 4.jpg Lamp 5.jpg

Wow thats incredible. I think I am missing two of those bulbs on the side. Do you think those are a big deal? And is there a way to buy the bulbs?

Jeff, I wonder if yours is a chandelier light?

I don’t think mine is a chandelier light. I’ve seen a couple lamps online with the two arms on either side. I think the arms are just missing a glass globe piece each.

I think I might try to get this lamp to work, what would I need to get for the two holders?

Gas shades usually have either a 4" or 5" opening. Yours looks pretty standard but you may need to bend the prongs up to get a shade in there. A shade would just sit in there with gravity holding it in place. Typical shades from the era are clear with an acid etched pattern, though swirled opalescent, cranberry, and I am sure other shades are also appropriate. Here is a typical (if not a bit nicer with that scalloped edge) period gas shade.
