    Hi!

I have two plates with a stamp on the back. W.F. &.R and then "VINE" is in the middle of the stamp.

I have tracked the initials down to standing for Whittingham, Ford, and Riley and Vine is the name of the pattern. Made in Burslem, England c. 1876-1882

I can't find much for other pieces of this pattern or to know if it is rare. valuable, etc.

Anyone out there know anything about WF&R and if they're a valuable item?
I actually believe one has a stamp and the other plate does not, but they are identical.

    Thanks in advance!

Yes, thank you, I had found that information, listed in my original post. I'm having a hard time finding out a lot of information about them. Just the basics is what I've found. I haven't found many items out there online by them so was curious to know if anyone has any knowledge on them or their history to if the plates are rare/valuable or "just plates". I'm not sure if they're desired or just not common. :)

Have you looked at ebay sold listings and the worthpoint site? You pretty much have the same resources most of us do.

Yes, thank you. I have checked eBay, Etsy, Worthpoint, and a variety of other sites.

Because of the variety of people on this site, and the past help I've received I'm come to realize a lot of the folks on here have had a wealth of knowledge other than information that can be readily found on the internet.

It was a short lived company... only 6 years. Probably no info out there.

Do you think it makes them more valuable then because they'd be "rare" or less valuable because they were in business long?

I don't think this is an instance where "rarity" is a significant factor. Maybe others disagree.

    It is a pretty pattern.

This is not a rarity, but there may not be much around. There were SO many companies that came and went in the Staffordshire area (Stoke On Trent in particular) during then19th c that as was suggested above, they may not have had time to produce a lot, and factories produced similar stuff. It is pretty, but a transfer design, not hand-painted which means not a great deal of value.
