I got these teacups/saucers from a yard sale a few weeks ago but have been having trouble learning anything about them. They are marked "Austria" and under that "Karlsead". Is Karlsead a place, or a company? Very few results come up when I googled it, and I couldn't find any relevant ones. Can anyone estimate about how old they are?

Can you get a better-focused picture of the mark?

The intertwined monogram looks like H over S. I looked in my one pottery book with an international scope and do not find that in the Sight Index. But I bet another poster will.

Actually, the mark seems to say it's in Austria, no?

Actually we may both be Wrong/Right......When I googled Karlsbad Porcelain this came up.

Carlsbad or Karlsbad is a mark used on china made by several factories in Germany, Austria, and Bavaria. Many pieces were exported to the United States. Many of the pieces are biscuit jars, bowls, plates, and platters from the late 1800s and early 1900s. Carlsbad is a city in Czechoslovakia, home to the factories that made the exported porcelain. Most of the pieces available today were made after 1891.

There are several Karlsbad marks? Now I am on the hunt to find where/who this is? I also found a Carlsbad Austria.

Where did you find that last pic, Shiloh? It's the same as Terra's pieces.
