I'm assuming it's modern. Looks to me like "Arabia" and a flower design on the one side. On the other side appears to be a palm tree scene with swords crossing and some kind of script. A patent number I can't make out entirely on the bottom and more script and designs. It looks like some sort of soldering was done where the cap is hinged to the base and around the inside of the lid. Or maybe that's just the way the metal wore down. About 10.76" tall from foot base to pointed tip. About 8.75" and three-quarter inch across from point of beak to outside handle. I appreciate any info anyone can give on this piece. s-l1600.jpg s-l1600 (1).jpg s-l1600 (2).jpg s-l1600 (3).jpg s-l1600 (4).jpg s-l1600 (7).jpg s-l1600 (6).jpg s-l1600 (5).jpg s-l1600 (8).jpg

    S. Arabia (Saudi?)
Don't they use crossed swords in the flag?

I’m gonna guess it is a souvenir piece. I think too small for use as a typical Mideastern coffee pot. Too much decoration too. Small so tourists would buy. No patina but not polished, meaning recently-made.

Thought the same but didn't know if patents were issued for souvenir pieces.

I'm with spring, a Saudi tourist piece, no great age. I like the finial.
A similar crossed swords and palm tree symbol (not exactly the same) is on Saudi coins:

If u want to find others made in the same town as yours, find those with a very similar finial. The finial is a separate piece made by a separate business. It is lathe-turned and made by a machine shop, not the sheet-metal shop that made the body. The machine shop is likely in same town, but in the neighborhood where the machine shops are clustered. Piece likely comes from Pakistan or India. I doubt if any Saudi Nationals do that kind of work, we’re told they all get generous government subsidies and drive luxury cars.

    Your style is known as
    Dallah Raslaan

Or just Dallah. The Aftaba usually has a long, tube-like spout beginning in the bottom section of the piece. Dallah has the curved, horn-like spout like yours.

and no, I didn’t know anything about this stuff until I asked Mr. Google this AM.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

On the 7th picture down, it looks like it says "EST" after the word 'Amal'.... is there a date after "EST"?????

Don't see one. In taking this picture, I just noticed what should have been obvious to me in the other pics: a ring around the piece, which seems to indicate mold construction.
