Hello Board Buddies! I picked up a couple of Royal Doulton dinner plates that I think might be a little better than average. Each is 10 1/4" across. I think they might be a cut above the usual but I have no idea how to read the marks. The green plate has 1-6-28 pressed into the base. I think the numbers and letter at the top are R.A. 8349 ? on the first line and H. 3659 on the second line. The blue plate is marked BB2H19 on the first line and VII on the second. Any help on deciphering these marks would be much appreciated. Thanks!
    Don

The R.A is Robert Allen studios and he handpainted wares and they weren't duplicated much if at all. The number after R.A is your date code, this particular plate was made in early 1914.

Second plate the BB# is kind of hard to make out but it is pattern number for example Royal Doulton has a pattern BB3299,V1119 they are both the same pattern. Replacements.com is a good website to find the exact pattern. Both are very nice plates.
