I can not make out the name on the handle wondered if any of you could put a pair of fresh eyes on it and can make it out. I think the shape is a cat but I have been looking at it for about a week now lol

thanks Susan I have come to find there is very limited info on antique tin cookie cutters. I do know cant use them as back in the day they used lead in the solder and it was very expensive to
    use

Unless you are planing on licking them every few minutes, every hour, every day, I don't think you need to worry over much about the lead.

I have the equipment here to test cookies for lead content. Go ahead and make 3 doz. peanut-butter cookies cut with that cutter and send them, and I will run the test for free. Msg me when they are cool enuf to pack and send and I will give you the correct address. Please pack them in an airtight ziplock-type bag to help ensure test accuracy.

My Dad made many of my Mother's cutters, and I know for a fact that he used lead solder.
Of course, that might explain a lot about me. ;)

All I know is it looks like a kitty. You should test that theory out with some butter cookie dough. I'm still using a few my grandfather seems to have at least repaired. There has to be lead in the solder, but it's not like we use those cutters every month.

Or every year, come to it. That's a very old style cutter - 20s maybe.

I got a box lot at a auction was going to keep them but decided I have enough stuff. Not quit sure of the year of them but they are all old and all look to be made same except a doughnut and a Fries brand moon they are newer than the others but even though they are all good cookie cutters

Gotta say, based on what little I know about 'em, they're two really nice cookie cutters.
