Google Image search shows many similar pair, variously called Chinese hair-pins...or French meat skewers. These are ~4 3/4" long without counting chain links, ~1/8" max diameter; chain loops are ~3/8-7/16" diameter, welded; total weight 26.4 grams. The pins are unmarked, but arguing against them being plated is that they are hand hammered into their tapered, almost-round form. I have no recollection of when or where I acquired them, but until yesterday they were nearly black with tarnish.
I can understand an' accept the hair-pin possibility; but I have a hard time picturing the circumstances for their use as meat skewers. Any thoughts or suggestions will be most welcome; Thanks for lookin'!
