"Peerage" metal items from England

Item was hard to photograph, sry. Was going to ask about this company and somehow hit Google just right first, and got more info than I wanted here:

The brass tray/tabletop is about 24 inches in diameter. The image detail is great so I'm trying to figure out exactly how it was duplicated, whether somehow machine-engraved, acid-etched, or what. ?

 

Stamped from a hardened steel die, I expect.

The name 'Peerage' indicates it was made for a middle class market.

 

Looks like the Willow transferware pattern done in brass.

 

Yes very similar, looks like various manufacturers move the image's elements around at will.

 

Possibly, but there are no marks on the back of the type I'd expect to see on something pressed, the back looks just like new, flat sheet brass, with a small impressed "Peerage Made in England." I'll have to calculate offline to come up with the force required to stamp the large impression but I'm thinking it would be huge, like 1000 tons.

 

Not a problem, really. Stamping on a steel base with just the trademark raised would leave a flat back with the name impressed, and once the hydraulic press was invented very high pressures without enormous actual weight or expense just relied on good engineering.
