I am thinking this is German? with those numbers on the bottom. I have found many HON but none with the egg cups inside. Any thoughts on age and if it really is German? thanks! hon.jpg hon1.jpg hon2.jpg

    Love her!
You are so lucky to have one with the eggs cups intact!
    My first thought was Staffordshire.

    Interesting.

Most hens on nests are for storing eggs in the kitchen.

But this one has an integral liner that looks to have removeable poaching bowls, so it seems to function as a novelty food server with a lid to keep the eggs warm.

And dual function with the egg poachers (or cups) removed

The mold number on the bottom makes me think the OP's is a newer version of the 19th Century ones. I could well be wrong though.
