    Potties will be along to help you with an ID but provenance is where it came from, who owned it, etc., that is information only you would have.

    Yes, this is the link between the two: "In 1876 Henri Félix Anatole Barluet became director of the manufacturing company Creil et Montereau, which took the name "Barluet et Cie" until his death in 1884."

    Which dates the item to between 1876 and 1884 so now I have the answers to both my questions concerning the date and country of origin!
