Silhouettes from England. Age? Maybe Misspelling on the label

These small ink silhouettes are signed Audrey Hopkins and I could not find any info on her. Vintage factory name? I also tried to find the frame shop without any luck. The labels on the back have the location as Hamillon England. Is this a misspelling for Hamilton because I could not find Hamillon. Any idea how old these are? 5 1/2" by 4 1/2". Thank you.

 

1930s to 1950s decorative pastiches in a fanciful 18th C.style that never existed in the 18thC.

The address is a misprint for Hamilton, I imagine, in that font the 'l' and the't' are almost identical.

 

Thank you af. My guess on the age was in the 1920s to 1940s because the frame resembles several hand tinted photographs that I have from that time period. Thanks for confirming the misspelling. I didn't think Google would miss an entire city.

 

There were postcards done by an A.H. Hardwick, picture framer and photographer in the 1920s. He was located at 157 James St, Hamilton, Ont. Canada. Way tooooo much of a coincidence for 2 framers of the same name to be located on the same name street in different corners of the world.

That was the Hamilton I first thought of, and it would seem superflous to call a picture framer in England an English Picture framing shop.

Possibly only the labels were printed in England.

 

I don't think it's a misprint.....look VERY carefully at the "t" in Hamil"l"on.....you will see a ghost of what was supposed to be the rest of the cross of the "t"..........compare it with the other "t's".

Edit......At least, that's what I see!!

Perhaps the prints and the labels were printed in England. "English Picture Framing Shop" because they frame English Pictures.

 

Aquitaine, I do see a tiny mark near the top of the T but I can't tell if it's a ghost or just one of the tiny spots on the label even looking at it magnified.
