I found this small, twisted glass pitcher with a silver/silverplate top and fell in love. I bought its little friend hoping it would also be EAPG. The twisted glass one seems to be Steimer, or at least the bottom has been identified as Steimer on one website. A couple of other sites show the twisted glass in tumbler form also attributed to Steimer. I know how this is, so I thought I would ask here what you thought.

Since the smaller, plainer one was donated at the same time and has a similar beading along the top, I was wondering if this is around the same age whatever that age is. Maybe not the same maker but having a similar style of top.

The larger one is almost 6 inches at the top of the handle; the smaller one is 5 inches. (Yes, that is a cat tail in the photos.) Any information is welcome.

Love it. I don't know where you come up with this stuff. That's exactly the one and I love the date. Steimer apparently folded pretty quickly, but I love this twisted thing. So perfect in its execution. Thank you.

Also, the Monongahela House rang a bell. I got my undergrad in Pittsburgh. How life intersects.

Also for tracking down the smaller one too. Both syrups. I didn't think creamer but I hadn't considered syrup. I'm so jazzed to add these to my small collection of EAPG.

So do I and there's a lot of very good EAPG out there to be found. I've never seen or heard of Steimer. Maybe because the company was just a flash and gone. This is an awesome pattern, the base is just fantastic! Steimer existed towards the end of the EAPG period, so perhaps their glass was too good and not many could afford it. I'd love to know their story, why they closed.

    Very nice piece!

I was familiar with Steimer, as I have a spooner in the Diamond/Radiant pattern. Not much to be easily found about Steimer; tho' Heacock does mention the 'short lived' company in his book 7 on ruby stained glass.

You could be right. An oversaturated market. I have a lot of ABP pieces, as those are most available were I shop. I bought a dozen high quality pieces from a dealer who was selling out and got a Hawkes, etc. I'm not good at spotting EAPG, so I buy what I think is old and hope. I have no sources I can trust other than here and the EAPG Facebook group. So no help.
