Featured Toby jug - no mark

Hi, I have a Toby Jug which belonged to my grandfather (who passed away in 1987). He wasn't a collector and I have no idea how he came across it.

There is no mark on the bottom whatsoever so it's not Royal Doulton. I can't identify the figure depicted.

It stands at just under 10" tall.

My grandfather was Swiss-German and lived in Sri Lanka for a long time but I don't know if that has any relevance.

    Thank you for any help anyone can offer. PXL_20220415_074001792.jpg PXL_20220415_074009414.MP.jpg PXL_20220415_074017298.jpg PXL_20220415_074025474.MP~2.jpg PXL_20220415_074025474.MP.jpg PXL_20220415_074050853.MP.jpg

Late 19th or a bit earlier. I'd think Austrian or German.

Agree with Bear and probably the nicest Toby mug I've ever seen! :)

Way more delicate than most English ones, isn't it.

Indeed it's a beauty. I don't think I've ever even really liked a Toby mug before, but this face, along with the exact amount of wear on the face, is exquisite! :)
