The paperweight on the left has a "Guaranteed Irish" label, and sticker residue on the bottom. I found some Kerry Glass weights with this same sticker, but couldn't find any other information. [EDIT: Found the answer to this next question myself: Is the "Guaranteed Irish" a Kerry Glass line or promotion, or was it an Ireland-wide campaign similar to the "Made in the USA" push that went on in the '80s?]

The paperweight on the right was signed with a very fine-pointed gold paint pen. I have been unable to decipher the signature. My first thought was "Bailey", but that turned up no results. The initials on the far right look to be an entwined "RB", if that helps. Does anyone have any other ideas on the name?

Thanks for your time. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

AHA - "Guaranteed Irish" is Ireland's "Made in the USA" equivalent. I tried googling with the term in quotes. Without quotes, all the results were about a folk music group with that name.

Here's a photo of the bottom, in case that points to a specific Irish maker:

I'd say not Kerry, it doesn't have the look of it. They usually resemble Mdina or Isle of Wight Glass, as all three have Michael Harris connections. I've not seen Kerry without a flame pontil, fwiw.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your thoughts.

Cxgirl and Ownedbybear, I don't know how I missed the bit about the flame mark. I looked at a whole bunch of stuff about Kerry Glass, and must have glanced right over it. I've now looked at a lot of their paperweights, and it doesn't seem that they put the flame mark on the smaller pieces like this. BUT - they do seem to have ground & polished their bases, whereas mine is only polished flat.

Perhaps it will sell by itself for the Made in Ireland factor alone.

I'm still stumped on the signed weight. I see B a _ _ l e y. Anyone fancy a game of Hangman? I also tried Bailley and Bauley, which led nowhere.

    Thanks again!
