    Hi friends,

I can use help with a recent thrift find. I can't make out the writing and sig. I think it's Hungarian. The art looks like it may be pencil on a swath of vellum.

On the back is a stamp that appears to have a wreath with a star on top, what looks to be some sort of crest in the center, and a bow beneath. I believe it's the Hungarian Coat of Arms. There is writing around the images that I also deem to be Hungarian. The first word appears to be "Kivitelre" —English translation: "For export." I can't make out the second word and am not sure what the "MNG" stands for.

To the right of the stamp seems to be the number 17 in blue and above the stamp and the 17 appears to be numbers and symbols starting with 92. They look sort of erased in, if that makes any sense.

Thanks in advance for any help. Unfortunately, I could not take photographs straight on due to the highly reflective glass of the framing.

National Gallery Export stamp of Hungary

"Kivitelre Engedelyezve M.N.G." = "Authorized for export M.N.G."

"Hungarian National Gallery" = "Magyar Nemzeti Galéria"

looks to be an etching, rather than a drawing.

Update: I sent an email to the Hungarian National Gallery (with a link to this post) inquiring about the piece and Sarolta Dorfinger replied that a colleague from their Graphic Department said it's an original etching by Gyula Komjáti Wanyerka.

Not sure what her etchings have been estimated at or have sold for, but it looks like her signed drawings had estimates from $400-600. As I'm not a member of invaluable.com, askart.com and other auction sites, I'm not sure what her art has sold for. Any info on that would be golden. Thanks all.
