I was told after I bought it,it was for children that we're handicapped so they could get around but I'm not sure that was accurate...
And what would you call it so that it could be found for resale? IMG_20190507_175238232-1336x1002.jpg IMG_20190507_175242607-1336x1002.jpg

Jim, I don't think it has anything to do with disabilities, but I could be wrong...

    Perhaps you could ask them?

If you're not familiar with Bruderhof communities, you may find their history interesting. (When I lived in NW Connecticut, there was a community not too far from us. It was a very "different" communal group of Christian families, living a "simpler life".)

    From their site: https://www.communityplaythings.com/about-us

Woodcrest in Rifton, NY, was the first Bruderhof in the United States. A small cooperative community from rural Georgia soon joined Woodcrest, bringing Community Playthings north with them. The Bruderhof has been making wooden play equipment for a living ever since.

Only thing I notice is that the stamped label is upside down. Obviously one would guess that the wheels go down, could that section go the other way somehow?

    No idea!

Maybe a (wince) portable teeter totter? (It was hard to locate on the site, bc I couldn't figure out what category it might fit!)

Since you never know when you'll come across something similar, keep in mind the wooden educational toys or "gifts" designed by Fredrich Froebel

I have this Fredrich Froebel Werdau Company East German truck - 1960s-70s

It wouldn't be upside down if you were lying on your tummy, using it like a summertime sled.

    This looks like a suggestion:

One end is released by a peg, but I'm no closer to understanding it... It's their company logo, and I can't locate it on their site.

I assume it's for kids, but looks like a real widow maker! Lol

    Lol, Scoutshouse. Agreed!

I'd like to see what it looks like upside down. Seems like there are pieces underneath that might be some kind of clue.

The Bruderhoff Community manufactures Community Playthings - as @SBSVC said - with much the same educational philosophy as Froebel

    RARE - Community - Rifton, N.Y.
    Vintage Children’s Wooden
Ride On / Push Toy - Luge
    1970’s ??
    Normal wear
    Excellent used condition
    44” long
    2 handles
    Wheels do come off

I don't think they know what it is, either :)

I'm still thinking teeter trotter - there are extra pegs under the pyramid shaped elements including the removable wheel pegs to assemble handles... Oh, thanks, Worthpoint! $250 in 2013

    Another worthpoint $400 2017
large ride-along multi-child scooter that steers at the front wheels, a balance beam, a seesaw, a climbing toy and more. All five of the pieces are independent of each other and can be interchanged to offer multiple types of constructive play

So I guess it was a convertible suite

    Seesaw has no handles, apparently!

This is the kitchen set I got with it. Honestly shocked at how nobody wants it for $30 on the local sites. I'll post both on eBay soon and maybe even be willing to ship to get them moved out quickly
