    This pin is not marked. It is 1 7/8" across.

    I have seen pins that are used to hold a lady's watch & have one that I need to get listed that I have paired with an old Gruen watch.

    However, this hook is totally different & I was not able to hang the watch from the hook.

    Any ideas as to what the hook was used for?

    It appears to be original to the pin.

    Just for clarification, this is the other watch & pin that I referenced in the above post.

    There may have been a complementary pendant that could be added to dress the piece up for evening wear or removed for something suitable for daytime.

    Well if that is the case the odds of finding it is unlikely at least where I am concerned.

    I haven't a clue as to when this pin came into my possession. So if I ever did have anything that matched it God only knows if it still resides in one of those drawers over in the corner.

    :rolleyes::rolleyes::p:hilarious::hilarious:

    Dual purpose, either pendant or brooch.

    It wouldn't be very secure as a pendant though since it would just kind of hook over the necklace. If you bent down it could just fall off the chain. :confused:

    I think it is meant to be hooked on a pearl necklace. So dual purpose as obb said, but a very specific purpose.

    I was thinking of a chain of some sort but beads would make more sense.

    I'll have to look around in my stash for something to try it out on.

    Often called enhancers.

    Thanks for the keyword. :happy::happy:

    I did try it on a couple of necklaces & the one thing for sure is that the beads are going to have to be small & widely spaced due to the way the hook is shaped. :rolleyes::rolleyes:
