I found these in amongst some Christmas decorations. I doubt that this is what they were originally intended to be, but I don't even know where to start. One was still wrapped in the paper shown so I was thinking some type of souvenir piece.

Is there a name for this type of item? Possibly some type of good luck charm to hang some place?

Can anyone read what it says on the wood piece?

The one with the wood piece is 10 1/2" long & is 1 3/8" across the wood piece. The other is 9" long & is 1 3/8" across the ball.

The threaded spheres are Temari balls, can't recall seeing them with the bells like that - if they want it to jingle, they usually just stick a bell into the ball before winding...

Those Temari balls are a craft I could never do. It requires Math and Patience.
I do admire them, though! :)
