    Hi,
All I can think of for this is an open salt dish - open to any ideas:) He is 4 1/2" x 3 1/2" x 2"H.
    Dry/unglazed bottom, maybe from Germany?
    Any information appreciated.
    thanks for looking

My only contribution... beautifully sculpted, to me... really nice pig anatomy and authentic pose... cute little pig face. Good luck!

They look like that when they're asleep in the mud, too! My uncle raises them. I know my pigs. Unfortunately.

I would think German or Czech was most likely.

I would guess German. It's not too far removed from the antique German "Pink pigs" figurines.
    They're pretty cute too.

Really neat little ceramic piggy. Does remind me of the German pink piggies. Sorry, can't add further except it is most likely a planter. I've seen several similar size pottery/ceramic animal planters.

I vote pin cushion also. If you Google "pig pin cushion," a multitude of images come up of them. They all seem to have a very similar size and shape opening as this one. I didn't see many porcelain ones. 90% of them were silver or a silver finish.
