Featured Whst is this? Not a rug - 1 side opens like a sack

Found this at my regular thrift store today! When I first saw it, it was folded jn half with a handle? on each side exactly at the halfway point of the entire piece.
When I opened it I thought it was a tribal rug of some kind- but then I noticed I ne side opens like a sack? A pillow case?
But with the handles at the 1/2 way point, you could load half of it & then fold the top half over & you have a backpack? Or a sack 2 people can carry; 1 holding each side?
But then I saw a square cloth stapled to one corner - the staples have long since rusted some color into the cloth and it has some writing on it.
The artist/sewer? A description from a store or dealer?
What exactly do I have? Or read what the tag says?

According to the site info, this is made by the Qashqai people (in Iran)

 

Couldn't find/read definition, but when I googled Anadal Iran all I got were carpets - it seems more likely to be a camal bag than a carpet? Does your link refer to a rug or carpet?

It looks like a soumak technique has been used, at least on this section -



This would be characteristic of saddle bags or storage bags made in the regions of eastern Turkey, the Caucasus, areas of Iran, and by some weavers on the Iran-Afghanistan border.

Just an amateur's guess-Looks like a newer bag w/ an older looking tag & rusty staples.Just one of 'History's Mysteries'.

 

I can tell you within the past “conflict” soldiers brought these home as souvenirs. I am not sure about yours, but our kids had them when they came home from the Middle East.
