HELP! PAINTING BOUGHT ON A HUNCH! GOOD OR BAD PICK?

I found this today while thrift store hunting. I saw it on the cart as it was brought out & immediately thought 'Latin American". When she set it down I scooped it up!
I paused at the price though - $69 is a lot for this thrift store - and decided to look it up before buying it; but it turns out there are a lot of Ruiz in the art world!
I also tried P. Uiz & got nothing BUT I did see something about Picasso's father painting & using the name P. Ruiz - so I'm not saying this is by Picasso's dad but could it be signed P. Ruiz & the artist didn't put the R in?
And if that is a R not a P/with a period, can someone tell me who the artist was?
Finally, please tell me this isn't a 'factory painting'?! I don't think they would make one with a mother breast feeding would they? And also because it (I thought) has ...something (it?) - the faces all looking the same or that all the women look sad (or at least not happy), made me think this painting was something different - and hopefully special.

I think your painting is by Ruiz with no "P".

 

i don't know who is ruiz,but i think this is good painting for decoration,and 50-60$ already good deal.I'm myself ever tried to do painting before so i appreciated about paintings it's not easy to have good painting especially with oil kind,but the acrylic is easier than the oil,and this one i think it's acrylic,a professional can done this kind of painting maybe in 1day work or less,so i think 50-60$ still worth for it,imho...but let's hear what about the other says!

 

Looks like Ruiz to my eye and, yes, Latin American (which rules out Picasso's father.) Almost impossible to identify country I'd think. The only clues I see are the potatoes which are a staple in the Andean countries and the head wrap on figure in rear on left which might indicate African heritage. The faces look as if taken from Pre-Colombian Mexican art and the white hat may be a sombrero or something else. Dunno. Others may have ideas.

I just wanted to add... Although I find this type of naive Latin American souvenir painting charming, in almost every instance it's impossible to identify the artist or even the culture. One problem is the Spanish-language doesn't have a lot of surnames (one reason people use both their father's and mother's) so a name like Ruiz is very common. And many countries share the same iconography.

The only thing that I suspect may point to a general region of CA/SA is the large display of bananas. Should be in a place where bananas are commonly grown - but that may not help much.

 

It has pineapples and avocados too, which doesn't help much. I'd be guessing Colombia.
