Eboo....the seller had misread and thus mislisted the signature, so it wasn't listed as an Amos, which may have slowed down some potential bidders. And it has some scuff marks, but at normal viewing distance, as in the photo here, they are not visible. A good size, 24" diameter.

I ran into someone in the supermarket today who I knew in high school. She took her parents to the Simon Pearce glass factory years ago, but left it all due to eye-watering prices. I have a Simon Pearce signed vase in the trunk of my car, scored half price in the Ill Will. Their straff vultures totally missed the siggie, or couldn't read it. I love a good "illegible" bargain!

Some of these were cheap and qualify as 'finds'; other were less so and so perhaps don't. Nonetheless...

Ribari hat / cap, from India, not terribly old, but kinda amazing, $8:

I'm a sucker for a handmade wood box. Leather hinges, handles, $7:

Nice studio pottery. I overpaid for this at $40. I've identified it as being 'Purple Rain Glaze' (let's go Prince!) by Carol Broadley of New Glarus, Wisconsin.

Japanese kinda Art Deco vase, $15:

... Two more... Tohono O'odham (formerly 'Papago') basket, $30. It's got some serious age and I hope I can make $20 on it:

And lastly some photos I like. Both were less than $4. I think they were 'left-over' prints after a contest. Both are local.

This one is a dizzying view inside a Northwest lighthouse. I dig the visual and geographical complexity:

And this one, at $3, is the one drawing my attention the most. A boat, amazing photo and composition.

That's right up the road from where I live! I drive through New Glarus every time I go to Madison. If you're interested I could see if she has a studio.

    Small world!

I found some of her FB posting for art fairs and such. Not sure how this piece made it out here to Portland Oregon, but I think it's lovely!

The last pot you posted looks like a Fulper bullet vase. Sure it is Japanese?

    And a bargain!
It is Rabari though, with an a.
The Rabari and Banjara are Indian Gypsies, related to our Roma, Sinti, Manouche and Kalé Gypsies in Continental Europe. Representatives of the Indian Gypsy tribes often come here for international Gypsy meetings.
