Featured Did I just scoop the motherload of all Meissen pieces at the ReStore?!

Hi all! I have to say, Meissen has always been on my bucket list to find in the wild and I nearly wet myself when I visited my local ReStore at lunch today and I stumbled upon someone's collection. Of course I always assume that the crossed swords marks are fake, but I'm REALLY hoping these are all (or at least some are) authentic! The vase is intriguing but all I can read on the faded writing is 1837 (it is also in German-can you read it?-I can post more pics). I am hoping you can help me any info with regards to age etc. of any of the pieces and any other pertinent information. I will of course do some continued research but I wanted to check in here first! Thanks so much (fingers crossed they are all Meissen :nailbiting:). I will post more pictures in the comments as I have uploaded the maximum!

Waiting for an actual expert, but they look good to me. Just don't ask me how old they are.

They certainly scream quality so Id assume they were right. BUT Meissen is one of the most faked marks ever. I sure wish we could make out the writing.

Something like this: Opfer der liebe, dargebracht jubelfeste freundes den 16 mai 1837. Sacrifice of love, offered to a friend on May 16, 1837.

    I think it's
    Opfer der Liebe
Dargebracht zum Jubelfeste des Freundes den 16e May 1837
    Offering of love
Presented for the friend's jubilee May 16 1837

Not an expert but the quality looks very good. I’d maybe question the teacup/mug if anything. I’d bet it’s real all real barring possibly the aforementioned. It is prolifically faked but it’s also prolifically legitimately manufactured. They’ve made an awful lot of it, so it is out there to be had. I think you made a hell of a score. Even if some turns out not authentic it’s still good quality and would still be nice to own or profitable to sell. Congrats on your Meissen in the wild score!

Thank you! I gave myself a bit of a headache I was so excited :hilarious:. I've suggested my husband go back tomorrow to make sure I didn't miss anything.

That’d be wise if he has time! Is the 3.00 on the unglazed bottom accurate for what you paid?

Yes! The others were all similar, I managed to clean off the pen marks on the rest but couldn't with that one because it was unglazed (hate when stores write on things). I paid around $20 CAD for all!

I got this response in a Meissen collectors group on Facebook:
These are fantastic finds and the quatrefoil dish and cup and saucers are early and rare. Some in the style of Johann Georg Heintze, the earliest circa 1730s-1740s. The vase and shell-shaped dish are earlier nineteenth century. The long narrow tray is later nineteenth century and outside decorated (it has a cancellation mark scribed through the crossed swords).
