Hello... (ahem), I am new here... but, not new to the plying.

Anyways- I went through the site that lists all (most?) of the RD artist signatures but either missed it, or could not find the scribble listed, that is on this piece?

    Might anyone have an idea?

    It’s a pattern number, 61009.

Most welcome, the other squiggle is probably the decorators piece work mark for payment.

Oh, interesting... if they didn't get paid, I guess they could then easily find their pieces to break for retribution.

Never thought of that one! Basically, the foreman counted up at the end of each day.

Hopefully the foreman didn't give them a whack on the back of the head if they didn't fulfill their quota!

Thank you as well. Now that I know the pattern... I think I will look for a few pieces from that line, as I only have that "vessel". Do you know what the commonly used term for a shape like that?

    I think it’s a box missing a lid.

Do you have any idea where the lid might be?!

Might be broken to bits. If you bought it at an auction, the lid is likely one or two boxes over from the one this dish was in. And sitting way at the bottom of the box.

Ha ha. Likely, but this was also likely bought at auction 30 years ago. Are you a marble collector/expert ola402? I have a jar of marbles here all with pontils...and get frustrated every time I try to determine if any of them are sought after spheres.

Not a marble expert, but I can commiserate. I get the same feeling every time I open my father's stamp collector books. They all look the same to me.

Well, the worse is looking at 20 years worth of worthless US Mint Proofs, which my Grandparent's got roped into buying for the grandkids every Christmas. What a scam!

Bradford Exchange or Franklin mint. Need I say more?

Do you happen to have any priceless Norman Rockwell plates you might be willing to part with?
