I think something has happened between thar faded watercolours and the white paint. Marshall may have used a different paint as white isn't a usual paint colour in watercolour palettes. However, an engaging scene. Good luck with it!

Opaque watercolor- gouache. Mixing the two was standard, back when. Still is.

 

Got a pr of broken 9ct gold stud earrings for £1, should get a tenner for them, plus a map for £4, same Charity shop.

 

Score! I got my find of the day today for sure.

Maurice Heaton fused glass bowl. Teardrop shape. $10. The charity thrift had zero clue. I overpaid for a Solje pin but this made up for it.

Lots of fabulous pieces you folks have been posting
I haven't posted anything for a bit, I'm lazy these days
I was surprised (but very happy) to find this signed and dated Oiva Toikka Rooster, label still in place and priced under $10 in Value Village and yet in the next aisle they had Pyrex 'Butterprint' pieces for $39 each and the pattern was faded and scratched all to hell. I had the Bird By Toikka pamphlet already, no idea where I ever got it from, lol. Nice little dresser powder jar with Birks sterling lid, a Wallace Bros quadruple silverplate casket that I've been polishing like crazy and it still has black spots. I don't know if those will ever come off - I've put it away for now and will bring it out in a couple of weeks and work some more on the polishing.
I picked this fellow up on Tuesday, 30% off day at VV - I wasn't sure if I should get him but he is cute, Mr Fox by Freeman McFarlin Potteries.
There is an estate sale advertised for tomorrow that I'm hoping will be good, I haven't been to a good one for a while.

Carved from White Carrara Marble. The Series made in 1980 according to the Gallery web site information.
