Featured What would an Oil press be ?

Hi again folks

something else i picked up yesterday.

picked it up as i liked it, then saw all the info on the back

the burton art gallery is a small art gallery in our local town

definitely looks like a painting to me

the only thing that is bothering me is the Oil press writing

not sure what thats supposed to mean, is that some kind of printing technique ?

can't seem to find any info regarding an oil press

under glass so very hard to get any good shots

any thoughts or info appreciated

It's under glass. You can always ask the gallery if its nearby.

That's a superb point Charlie ! I call this form of PTSD- the 'Roman Bust at The Goodwill Syndrome'. Well,at least you might get your picture in the paper-so now you'd be famous at every local thrift !...or infamous.
PS-Part joking Mate-you could of course auction it anonymously, but natch-if it was stolen you can't do much about it. There's a good chance someone passed or there was a divorce.
PSS-A Divorce sale's ('Spite Sale') how we got one of our better WC's.
Last/not least-fine painter, the portrait's superb.

some dodgy folk round my way dude, its a town full of flakes who can't afford strong lager anymore

will take it in next time i'm in town though, as deb mentioned the copyright part isn't a great sign, but the authenticated part is, don't know if you would authenticate a print, but then maybe you would an artists print.

we shall see

 

More the idea of an authorized print, I'd think.

99.9 percent sure its an original watercolour. on watercolour paper, water stains marks etc

signature was hidden, so worth the dig

can get some decent pics now as well

 

looks like a watercolour sold recently for £390, so its not like gonna be good money

 

It's a nice image. I cannot see any printing dots in the photos. The back of the artwork will tell us more.
