    Hi Everyone,

    I just got this Laguna Zuni cuff bracelet. Very heavy, I think it's brass. Hoping for some help with the maker, please. I'm pretty sure it reads QP, then some other mark that's hard to capture. Thanks for looking!

    This bracelet made by an unknown Zuni silversmith with the initials 'LP' features

    Leonard Paquin ........... ???

    I can not verify...

    "Platero" means silversmith in Spanish.

    This seller has a cuff bracelet with the same marks and says it is by O. Paquin, Laguna and Zuni.

    Yes it does, and in this case a forefather may have been a silversmith, and it became a family name. SW Native Americans often have Spanish names, but they don't use Spanish terms for their silversmithing.

    It looks like a Q, but there is a small dent just above the P, maybe the tail on the 'Q' is a similar dent.
