Tall 13 " Cooper Ash bucket ? Coal ?

    So I have this tall 13" copper bucket . I've been told it's an ASH bucket ? Could be ! Those hinges and that bottom tell me this was made for a purpose ? Any guesses ? THANKS ! AshB.jpg AshB1.jpg AshB2.jpg AshB3.jpg

    I agree with ash bucket...those five buttons would keep the bottom away from the supporting surface. Others here will perhaps have other ideas, of course.

    Hot ashes could melt the lead solder at the base.

    Most ash buckets I've seen were galvanized.

    The zinc galvanising can melt, but at a much higher temperature.
