Featured Silver plate jug vase

I think this a bud vase in the shape of a ewer. It's about 13cm tall. There is a mark on the base but it is either worn or mis struck. It looks like silver plate but you never know. It looks very Scandinavian.

It's very similar to mine. Even right down to the lip where the base is joined. The mark on mine seems so much smaller though. Can't fathom it.

 

I've given it a good polish and it looks like silver. It has tested positive on the same area three times and the discolouration has polished out to silver every time. Please don't shoot me

Maybe it's a worn hallmark on the base

 

I’ve got this one, 4”-5”. Looks like a fish or shark? I’m sure I looked it up a long time ago.

 

That is a Hans Jensen mark, there was a business connection to Jorgen Th. Steffensen, and also to Hejl & Co. Sometimes identical pieces can be found bearing those marks, and occasionally more than one firm's marks are found together...
