Featured Imari bowl Chinese repro?

    Bagged this today on my way back from the auction house. Looks like imari decoration and rings on the base but the decoration is so crude. The bare ceramic on the base indicates that it has some age though. What do ya think? 25cm diameter so quite hefty.

    looks good to me for late19th, i quite like that thick brush/wash application, unsual

    Yes the deep colour looks good. Later copies usually have an insipid pale blue. Still has that feel of them trying to pump as many out as possible cos the western world can't get enough of it. :rolleyes:

    Not Imari. My gut feeling is Japanese late 19th century.

    Okay thanks. When I see circles round the foot rim I always think imari.
