In response to a single heart-wrenching request: @bosko69
These are tokkuri, used to warm sake prior to serving. They were made by Ichirakusai, who's signature an' seal are on the inner surface of their tomobako's cover (pic 2); the outer face states: Flower Hammer Finish, Pure Silver Wine Warmer, One Pair. A more complete description, courtesy of I. Nagy, will be in my very next post
Dimensions, etc. are as follows: Height overall ~130mm, height to rim ~94mm, major diameter ~53mm; each weigh ~112 grams.
These were among my uncle Leonard's bring-back hoard from ~7 years in MacArthur's GHQ era (August 1945 to early 1952). They were given to my Dad, his brother, who passed them to me. Thanks for lookin'!

Very nice. Think the top mark is a japanese 'jungin' hallmark which means 'pure silver'. They stopped using it c. 1920. Don't know how far back it goes though.

    Thanks!
The "jungin" mark, which translates to "pure silver," was a common hallmark used on Japanese silver pieces produced during and shortly after the Meiji period...1868 - ~1920.

It's the same mark as the one on the silver ring boxes I posted on here a couple of years ago. It's the only Japanese silver mark I know. (Shhhhh. Don't tell anyone)
