Featured Little jade? censer

Hi folks

found this lovely lil piece in an antiques shop today. found nothing in the thrifts so hit the big boys instead

i'm presuming jade, but never 100% sure

got it for 45, was priced at 60. priced low because of the damage (there are two broken off pieces to the lid

i still very much like it for what i paid though, don't think i can lose on it

hard to guesstimate an age

any thoughts or info appreciate

Looks quite new to me. Nice for the price though. Should be able to at least double your money. Maybe 3x or 4x it. Nice color, not sure if it’s natural but it’s nice.

That is because this one is jade, not serpentine jade like so many.
A little sweetie. Fairly recent, but real jade.

 

I'm with you Chas-gets a bit freaky when all you hear is crickets after a share -as in OOPS !

 

Having little laboratory/classroom samples of jadeite,serpentine and nephrite in your kit might not be a bad idea (unless it aint affordable ?).

 

i've still got that big old hunk a horses piece bosk, having that in hand has helped me a lot with jade

though i can never be 100%, i just use it in mind when seeing new pieces

 

The horses were a nice find.I've got to get some samps.

 

without sounding Rockist they all look quite similar to me Bosk?

 

Ditto-Up close,specimens in hand there might be distinctions.
PS-'Rockist' sounds proper to me,who'd find that term offensive-thanks for being sensitive amigo !
