Another find in Buxton today. Some results saying it is Italian, others say Victorian or post 1920. It has a reference number on the back.

Searching the reference number 1009 p yields the result of 'Beatrice'.

I found similar ones that were made by Deknudt Mirrors in Belgium. Deknudt was founded in 1946 and I think they still make this model.

Nice idea. I must have something some where. I can send them the mirror too so it could be a multi purpose thingummy.

I've got a mughal miniature that fits almost perfectly. Sadly I don't want to sell it. Will have a search to see if I can find a bargain bucket one.

yeah, you'd need a glass front for that one anyway, and not as easy as you would think to get a matching glass size

I just need to upgrade my tile cutter to a glass cutter. The glass cutter seemed a bit over priced. Now i wish I'd spent the extra few quid :bored:

You could get the little hand held ones. And some gloves for the splinters... :joyful:

I tried to cut a piece of glass for my clock face. I used the tile cutter and there was a lump of glass left sticking out at the end. I decided to chop it off with my diamond disk. I slipped and scratched the face of the glass. When I fitted the glass to the door, it wouldn't close because the spindle for the clock hands stops it. Realised it needs to be domed. Where would you get x 6" sq domed piece of glass for a reasonable price? :(

    It's a work in progress.

A glass business maybe? Usually they do windows, mirrors, sheet glass type stuff but it never hurts to call. Otherwise, idk if it's an option for you to put a flexible spacer around the edge in-between the glass and clock face. It may make the assembly stick out the back a bit and require an off-set or similar to hold it in.

Thanks for your suggestions. A bespoke one is an option but perhaps expensive. I've considered a spacer but it is hinged so then the rest would be out. Would take some thought. Requires some thought. Maybe I'll get round to it one day.

Its not pretty but you can unscrew the hinge and then use offsets. If no one sees the back then it won't matter. I understand your hesitation to muss it up though.
