I have what I think is a vaseline glass perfume bottle. It also is UV fluorescent.

@mmarco102 While hunting down the matching plates to some vaseline sherbets, I noticed that a lot of them were identified as Imperial Glass. I didn't bother to check the accuracy of that, but I think Chino is correct, nobody really cares (especially if they're plain), they just want them to be vaseline. Everyone was calling out Imperial just to have a searchable name. I think "Vaseline" is a category on ebay but they might have changed that since I last looked years ago.

If you plan to sell on ebay, do what @glassluv said since some of that information will be needed. When buying glass plates, I always want to see if the base is polished.

Some YouTubers are promoting it hard. No doubt when the newer social media-based collectors get more experienced or have their zeal wear off we will see some price retrenchment.

Yep, that's how it always goes. I read recently where "influencers" can make thousands for recommendations of restaurants, shops or products. Blows me away.

They can, but most don't. It's a pyramid that runs on an algorithm. The ones at the top make millions. It helps to be attractive. Then it helps if you have a background in acting or being entertaining. And you have to buy equipment. Many pay to have a separate editor, if not other crew on the big ones. You are your own little production company.

Just look at how much the influencer drove their people to spend $500 on a Martha Stewart Entertaining book a few months ago. That was completely nuts in my opinion.

Just an explanation, I called it a fad because everyone is jumping on the band wagon. People are buying uranium glass indiscriminately without thought about the design, condition or maker. There will always be collectors who know what they are buying and look for good examples.

I went over to Youtube to see what's what with uranium glass, and while there, cllcked into this woman (Lori) posting about how to look for the good milk glass. She was filming from an antique mall space full of milk glass that looked like that old post from here about what Not to buy in MG and talking about picking out "the good stuff". Didn't have much of a clue.

Dr Lori is cited by tyros and panned by anyone with any actual knowledge.

A man stopped today inquiring about uranium glass. Rather than keep him waiting and leave my sale unattended, I asked for his email and said I would send him photos of what I have. I just heard back and he said he wasn't interested. (I have "Horseshoe" sugar & creamer and "Princess" sugar and creamer in addition to the "Florentine" shakers). and He didn't specify what pieces he wanted. Maybe because I knew the maker and pattern he assumed I also knew the fair market value.

The more of them I see, the more I want to buy them. But I'm also drawn to blacklit stuff, too. :)

    OHHH milk glass :)

I love it and sell a fair amount of it. But I am picky about what I buy, after a while you catch on!

I have precisely one piece - a cake plate. It's not like I need two of them, or even one of them, but it's pretty.

I sold the shakers and sugar & creamer set this morning. The buyer gave me $70 for both.

I'm selling more on Marketplace and NextDoor than I did at the garage sale.

    Congratulations, that's a great price!

I sold quite a bit of green Florentine on eboo around December-February but it has slowed down now. I took some to the local flea last week and it all sold! I will bring some more and see how it does in the next few weeks :)
