Evening peoples :) Acquired this cup and its mate at an estate sale. Obviously I know what/who/when from the backstamp, but having a devil of a time figuring out the name of the SHAPE of the cup. It is not like any others in this series. It's approx 105mm diameter, 70mm high with a capacity of around 300ml. Any comments or pointers in the right direction please? Thanks muchly...

    Replacements.com has a 'flat cup' at 70mm (2.75 in).

Looks very similar to "corset" shaped cups/saucers.

Saw that in my travels. Same series, not the same shape. Thx. :)

Was Wedgwood known to use this shape? Even a quick Google didn't display similar. Thx. :)

Interestingly, it's the same shape as the open sugar bowl in that pattern.

They just stuck a handle on to make a cup! To me this stuff looks a tad like restaurant ware.

Well, 1950s, isn't it? Of its period.

Yes. I realize now that my post sounded a tad dismissive. It does show that "fussy" was old and smooth and clean was the "new."
