    hi folks

another repair i think i've got to the end of

you probably remember it was originally spray painted to hide damage ;)

it wasn't just a crack on the handle, after delving right down, the handle had been right off, also a long hairline crack around the neck

also about 3 missing glaze areas

all that area under the handle was bare of a finishing glaze

was sick of seeing it like that, so one day just went for it with some coiled milliput

you wouldn't believe the problems i've had matching the colour of the turquoise

at one point i had a right sh*t fit over it and nearly threw it out the window

be interested to see you thoughts

its no longer really an antique burmantofts jug, more a fantasy piece now i guess

the first pic is taken in the harshest light type with no (zer0) editing

would like real honest opinions, been a learning experience with restoring (or trying)

    so all feedback appreciated

thanks whit !, i have to admit that a few of the missing flecks in marotes 1st pic were done by me in the shop before purchase, just to see what was underneath the flaking of course ;):)

You have a good eye, saw a perfect shape and knew there must be more to it. You rescued it and gave it a new life, even a new nationality.:playful: Kudos to you!:kiss:

Yeah thinking about it i might start an etsy (haven't before) with just repaired type pieces so its clear from the off

and when i come across really messed up stuff there still might be a potential for them

    great idea bosk ;)

The amount of chipped and dinged little gems I see (cheap) is amazing-tough to walk past them all, and with light repair work-they look superb again aka @kyratango !

yeah could be quite a good asset for a picker, and can imagine you'd get better over time with tips and tricks etc

the main thing i took from it is patience. like for example with the painted coiled pieces. (which have been about 3 different colours, white underneath)

once you've done one its tempting to do all three bits, then you end up forgetting and smudging the once painted areas by handling/moving

so best to take time and let dry i found

I see restored pieces on the big auction house & first dibs sites, and when done properly it's not blasphemous.:vamp::troll::cool::woot: !
    PS-Love this Site to death but more Emojis wouldn't hurt ? (just kidding-ya know i'm a kidder-right ?).
BSS-Besides @kyratango ,perchance you've heard we've got an inlaid box specialist ? That'd be @808 raver -sure we've got more around here ?
