I was rummaging through the storage locker for something else when this rolled to the top. I think it was acquired in California, in the late '80s, probably in Bishop, on US395.

The spiral shaft appears to be of Oak, an' is slightly tapered from ~1 5/16" to ~1 1/32" in ~5" of its length. The base an' candle socket/drip cup are hand-hammered Copper with fully rolled edges, plated with Silver. It's 11" high overall; base diameter is 5 9/16", cup diameter is 2 15/16". Weight is 8 3/4 oz.

The only mark I can find, in the center of the base, is probably a production number; 1723. Both the base an' socket/cup are permanently attached to the Oak shaft; they will rotate slightly but do not loosen, as if threaded or press-fit.

The plating is seriously worn on the upper side of the base, an' badly scratched in the drip cup. I have attempted no clean-up or polish except to expose the production number. The base seems to have been immersed (probably for cleaning) to about 1 1/2", shown in pic 3.

Google image search shows a (sold, eBay UK) very similar if not dimensionally exact single as 'A.E. Jones Arts & Crafts Silver Plate & Barley Twist' candlestick. My ad-blocker prevents me from viewing that link; I'll see what I can chase down with just the listing title...I really want to know when it was made, an' where.

Your comments & suggestions are always welcome...
    Thanks for lookin'!

For all the years Dad & his sweet wife lived in Vista, I drove back an' forth from Port Angeles 3 to 5 times a year...an' rarely found the need for haste so great that I must needs use I-5; 395 was my road of choice for a variety of reasons, all of 'em having to do with junk-store antiquing an' low-stress mile-after-mile progress in stunningly beautiful surroundings.
They're both gone to their rewards, an' I no longer have the stamina to undertake such peregrination otherwise. Sigh.

395 is an absolutely beautiful route-it goes thru a quieter but no less lovely part of California.Ansel Adams loved this part of the Golden State and so do we.
We drove thru Lassen once, it was very late Winter, snow mostly melted and hardly another car on the road.Feather River canyon's also quite special.
395 is a roughly 21 hr drive, but if you've got time off or are retired-why not smell the roses ?
PS-Besides I-5 is really a numbingly tedious route.
