    I found it. Reg #238688, Feb 10, 1870, Minton flower trough.

    Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

    Inverted the mark to contrast it a bit more.....hope it helps, but you're right, very faint, and a bit late since it was found!!!!

    Thank you all so much for your help, especially to JB for the detective work! Spot on as the letter is C for 1870.

    Just for information, the length is 23cm, Height 6cm and the curved gap is 4cm wide.

    Not a bad find at the car boot sale for £5.

    Just had a much closer look at the base and now knowing it is Minton you can just about see the M in a C for 1870 and the last four letters of Minton.

    All the marks are very faint.
