PS-Hey,wait just one second ! What if the 'Beijing Zhang' stamp was skillfully etched into the base of an original Tang horse to allow it to be sold abroad ?
You may have just outwitted Chinese Culture police-sweet ! I'd invest in some rigorous testing-start with The Pitt-Rivers Laboratory in the UK.

Of course! Now why didn't I think of that! And they rubbed white-wash on the clay for the same reason!

By the way-The Pitt-Rivers Museum in Oxford College is the most jam-packed highly-piggly collection of extraordinary pyramid-sized pile of ethnographic/cultural/archaeological antiques/antiquities/artifacts I've ever seen in my life.
Much of it was collected, classified, tagged and cased in the 19th and early 20th century (opened to the public in 1887)-it is akin to an incredibly elaborate CGI scene out of a Harry Potter or Indian Jones-only more so !
For all I know-they have a vintage VW Van full of authentic Tang Horses stored in one of their ante-buildings (near their pile of shrunken heads and mummies). Top 1% tier bucket-list destination for any collector w/ an IQ over 6.
*Glad I was finally able to teach you somethin' Kid-my pleasure !

Yes, it has an amazing collection. Some of it questionable, a result of its early history. They have begun to do something about that.
I like the antique display cases too.
    Very grateful.:playful:

Best not to censor any evidence because you think we can't handle it. It might be just the clues we need.

Antiquers is an international forum which includes quite a few Chinese speakers. One of our Chinese members has actually been following this thread and 'liking' several posts. But she can't translate what she doesn't see.
Besides, with many marks you don't have to be able to read the script or language to recognize or find the maker.

You have needlessly complicated the matter, and I am sorry to say, this is not the first time. As komo always says: "help us to help you". We don't have the item in hand, you do, so full disclosure from your side is necessary.
