    hi guys

this was something else i found at the market yesterday, couldnt resist it for a couple of pounds, even with the damage

hopefully it has a bit of age to make up for it, thought the face looked consistent with age

was thinking maybe staffordshire, but think this is porcelain opposed to pottery, maybe wrong

the flowers i thought looked nicely done

    any thoughts appreciated

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

They look that way to me, too. I know nothing about this but now this thread is in my "Watched" list. I do like this!

I don’t think it’s English looking at the face and painted decoration.
I’m no expert though so wait for those with better knowledge.

Thanks houseful, I always value your opinions anyway

The decoration on the arms, make me think perhaps German

It is sweet.:) It reminds me of some 18th century Dutch Weesp porcelain, but it probably isn't. Weesp and Loosdrecht porcelain is extremely rare, even here in the Netherlands.
So it is probably by one of our neighbours to the south or east.

I don't know who made it but I have two others from the (I think) same factory - here's one, it's about 3" tall.

    Thanks Charlie.
Yes, the arm decoration is a bit like these Ernst Bohne Sohne figurine legs.

I'm going with Thuringia and quite a bit older than the Ernst Bohne Sohne figures illustrated above ..

Anyone reckon this could be described as barbotine, indicating it might be French ?

Never heard the term before, but that does seem to describe the floral aspect

And can find nothing German with this type of relief decoration
