IMG_9462.jpeg IMG_9461.jpeg IMG_9454.jpeg IMG_9456.jpeg IMG_9459.jpeg IMG_9458.jpeg Hi all, this I got a while ago. I don’t really like it that much but it was interesting enough for the low price. I find the big blobs of paint unsettling or even a little grotesque. Iam not even completely sure if the big blobs are all paint? Or is it a paste or glue? What would this painting technique called? Still impasto? The signature: ‘A’ and then? Looks like the letter ‘3’ ? The frame size is 56 x 78cm. The sticker with a number on the back (must have been auction) Thank you for any comments

Can't tell if it is all paint and gesso or if something else is embedded in the raised areas. Sometimes artists will incorporate paper wadding, guaze, or other fabric to get this kind of look. Either way, makes it interesting if not entirely pleasing.

Thanks Brad. Appreciate the reply and info. I also don’t know. My daughter says she thinks it’s toilet paper:)

Most impressions will be subjective - I will say the stretcher frame is a decent quality.

i really like this one as well mate (thats 2 in a row)

looks like the rough areas are supposed to be mimicking the bark of the trees and quite effectively as well, nice soft background colours as well

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

If so, those letters are equivalent to D. Z. in our alphabet.
