It will need to be tested as 18ct gold as it just feels a bit heavier than it should (maybe my mind is just playing games with me). It has a couple of marks either size of the gold stamps, which I'm not entirely sure about. It has been suggested to me that it could perhaps be Swiss and mid century.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Kind regards,
    Adam.

Well, gold should never be too heavy! Unless.... it's not gold. Much appreciated, mate. Thank you.

The OP's has markings which look like maker's marks, of course a fake could too. The extra heaviness is a possible red flag.

If you don't have a test kit, you could bring it to one of those places that buys gold and just ask how much they'd give you for it.

Agree with testing it or taking it to a gold buyer who would test it.
You probably already know or have found all this but...
THIS vintage watchstraps website on Swiss hallmarks shows a clasp with the same marking types.
Their PAGE on hammerhead marks indicates that one with the number "2" is by Fritz Baumgartner.
Of course, all marks can be faked.

i go along with the patek philippe hallmark being gold, but that swiss one ?
think that might be misinformation (maybe accidental) and causing more complications ;)

no reflexion on blummz by the way ;)

i've seen clearly fake ones sold on ebay for LOTS of money, because they are being sold as gold by sellers who really think they are

would love to be wrong ;)

That design has me crossing my fingers for the OP. I'd first take a magnet to the bracelet part before doing anything else. If it's steel, it'll stick like a limpet and that's that. I found one of the fakes myself years ago, and hoped against hope it was a real one. It wasn't.

It's cheap and harmless, which is why I go there first unless my wishful thinking gets the better of me.

I'd be surprised if that website got it wrong, it's a highly respected source of information. But you never know!
