I bought a roll of different prints on an online auction and I cannot read the artist on this one titled "Fern Hill". I also do not know what State or State 2 means. I am pretty sure the 2/2 means the second of a limited edition of two. It measures 18 5/8" by 22 5/8". The back is blank except the impressed square. Any help appreciated and thank you. States are different versions of a print. For example, an artist will try a version (state 1), pulling one or more prints and then rework the plate to create state 2. Usually, the largest print run will be whatever the final state is. Some historical prints have several known "states." For example, Rembrandt's "Three Crosses" drypoint.

Sorry, I do not know the artist of your print.

It might be student work, just to complicate things. J Lalic? Jalie? T. Latie? 1968 is all I'm sure of.
