Couldn't resist this piece of modern exotica for 4 bucks ! It weighs 4 1/4 pounds, is a foot high and looks to be made of solid brass & wood or composition base. No markings, black felt on base.
They still sell these but whether this is an older casting or not isn't too important. By 'Old' I mean- is it 1950's or 1990's.
    Anyway-a fun (cheap) piece.

I think so too Ruth. It reminds me of my childhood version of Post-War Exotica I grew up with, personified by Korla-

I never saw it here, but there's a local-only company called Avery that makes crazy flavors. Some are limited run or seasonal; they also do political jokes whose profits go to charity. They're the company that makes a Thanksgiving turkey gravy soda. Crazy, but it sells.

i'm mad on original coca cola, have heard theres a mexican one? that is supposed to be better? (obviously not better for you)

I had a Mexican Coke w/ my burrito last night. The Mexican version still uses pure cane sugar. Coca-Cola stopped using cane sugar in the United States in 1984,transitioning to high-fructose corn syrup.
Man-it tasted like the Coke I drank for the first 30-odd years of me life, IMHO-it was excellent.
Re: the UK crisps/chips-these blew my mind ! Yes-the crisps are thicker & come in flavors Yanks have never dreamed of ! Some of the meat ones are excellent.

I couldn't beleive how different it was. I wonder how many other things tasted different 50 years ago !?
In the Stephen King novel 11/22/63, the protagonist goes back in time to 1959,walks into a small country store and describes the taste of biting an apple-makes you wonder.

the thing i love about coke (even standard/full sugar one) is the lasting taste in your mouth

most soft drinks nowadays taste nice for a second, then you go urgh

pepsi(full sugar) i tried recently and just went urgh from the start (artificial as anything)

binned it (and wouldn't do that likely)
