Hi all...Just found this..(with my aunt's estate stuff..)..think it is silver plate..somewhat tarnished and pitted...nicely made .Mother of pearl handle..I find no markings.
Fish design on metal...a relative said..sardine fork ??? But who knows..
Would love to give it to someone who will appreciate it....How about..I pull a name from a hat of if more than one person interested....(don't want to slight anyone)

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

    Janettekay,

I'm not going to claim this because there are others who would want it more.

But, I love your idea of drawing a name out of a hat. Next time I give something away, I think I'll collect names up to a certain time, and then draw names if there is enough interest.

    Hi,
It's a great idea. The vintage textile board used to do it. I got rid of a lot of needlework and crotchet items that way a win win for everyone.

Fig, If you want, you can still do that with the jewelry.
I'm sure there were others that would like the jewels as well. :)

Yes, it is a sardine fork. Also useful for stabbing smelts and anchovies. :) Love the fish design!

Yes what a cool fork. I'd use it for pickled herring.

I searched sardine fork on Google, because I have never heard of one and ran across this interesting History of The Fork at Slate.com

Congrats Greg. :cat: Funny, today my one daughter gave me a Sheffield SP sardine and knife fork, the handles are beautiful porcelain handles with gold outlines, my first ever sardine set :)

The pics of Gregs fork is gone :(
